Questions about our clear aligner orthodontics

When patients consider alternatives to orthodontic treatment, such as ClearCorrect clear aligners, they often have many questions for their dentist. Dr. Warren Boardman and his team at Ridgewood Dentistry in Ridgewood, New Jersey, understand that patients are curious about this treatment option and might consider it for their smiles. If you have thought about clear aligner therapy as an alternative to traditional metal braces, now is the time to learn more about ClearCorrect and its many benefits.

Can you eat with ClearCorrect braces?

ClearCorrect aligner trays are meant to be removed when drinking beverages, eating food, brushing your teeth, or flossing. This is why they are removable, making it easier than ever to continue to care for your teeth without bothersome metal brackets and wires that get in the way. We encourage patients to wear the trays at least 20 hours daily for the best results.

How do the aligner trays move the teeth?

Each tray is tighter than the previous one, which gently pushes the teeth into proper alignment as you progress through the series of trays provided by our team. When you start your next tray, you may have some mild discomfort, but your teeth will reposition accordingly and be ready for the next tray in 14 days!

How long does it take to get results from ClearCorrect?

This depends dramatically on how severe the misalignment is in the first place. During your consultation appointment and initial evaluation with our team at Ridgewood Dentistry, we will determine if you are a good candidate before starting. We often have a good idea of how long it will take to achieve the results if you comply with treatments as our team recommends. Any problems or issues with compliance can delay the final results and may require additional trays, so it is vital that you stay on track with your treatment to ensure the best possible results–in the expected time!
